Complete beginner? Start here – A1 Italian, Part 1

A1 Italian, Part 1

This is an introductory course to Italian. Students will learn be able to do the following by the end of the course: greet and say goodbye; ask for someone’s age; state how they are feeling; discuss the weather; describe a town with correct vocabulary and adjectives; describe a person’s personality; discuss one’s and other’s professions and discuss together in Italian their daily routines.

Continuing student? – A1 Italian, Part 2 (2-3 months prior study)

A1 Italian, Part 2

This course is a continuation of A1, Part 1. In this course, students will reinforce their conversational ability with in-class practice activities guided by the teacher. Students will further learn how to: discuss free-time activities; discuss different types of dishes and their ingredients; use -are,-ere,-ire verbs confidently in various contexts; discuss family relations and possessions.

A2 Italian, Part 1 (6+ months prior study)

A2 Italian, Part 1

Students at this level have gained mastery of the present simple and progressive tenses, modal verbs, and a wide range of vocabulary. In this part of the A2 level, students will learn to use the passato prossimo (past tense) with the auxiliary verbs “essere” and “avere,” and will also widen their ability to converse on different topics such as entertainment, past vacations and events, and physical and mental health.

Conversation (Able to converse in Italian)

Intermediate Conversation

Held entirely in Italian, this is a conversation course that covers a different set of topics for each 12-week session. Some grammar is practiced from week to week by way of revision, but the emphasis is chiefly on attaining and maintaining spoken fluency in the language.
